Top 10 Reasons Tony Stewart is doing poorly in 2010

First of all I would like to say that I am a Tony Stewart Fan and have been since I decided to pick a favorite driver.  My wife and I started going to Talladega in 2000 and she asked why I didn’t have a favorite.  Tony, then had a personality similar to mine, seemed a good fit.  So I will continue, if Tony quits racing, I am a Tony Stewart Fan and always will be.  When he retires and someone asks, whose your favorite, you got it, T. Stewart.

I have been thinking about a Top Ten List why I think Tony is not faring so well this year.  I have been watching very closely.  Some of the info will just be for fun, but when you get to the #1 Reason, take it very seriously, but don’t cheat and look ahead, you just might miss something.

Let’s start with the number 10 reason why Smoke not faring well in 2010.

#3 Tony misses Zippy

I think Tony should work a deal with Joe Gibbs and get Zippy back.  Do you really think Joey Logano had the skills to get where he is.  Sorry Joey.

Despite years of controversy, crew chief Greg Zipadelli  stuck it out with his driver; entering 2008, the two were the longest tenured driver / crew chief pairing in the Cup series.  Get it back!  Hey Gibbs, Do the Deal!

#1 The Number 1 reason why Tony is not doing so well in 2010 is.

Either Dariun Grubb or Tony have decided to pit after Jimmy Johnson pits, and then do what he does after watching how many turns in or out of which side.

First of all, you cannot beat Chad Knaus and Jimmy Johnson by doing that!  Back in the day, it was the best cheater.  Cheating is over…cheating went out with the death of Dale Sr.  No I am not saying he cheated…, but when Dale Sr ran Nascar, yea he ran Nascar, but that was good, Nascar would not be what it is today without Sr’s input.  Nascar learned from Sr all that he would let them learn, he wrote the rules, Nascar conformed.  Sorry about that – lets get back to article.

Why is Johnson/Knaus so strong?  They keep their secrets to themselves.  Now who do you think that bothers the most…you got it, Jeff Gordon.  “Hey!”, I assume Jeff pleads, “I am part owner of that car, Now you guys tell me how you always beat me”.

First of all, I believe a ratchet can have a different ratio according to its application.    I believe that a ratchet can actually not have a ratio at all, just be a shell, or how about a socket with no teeth. 

There is a rule I have grown to live by, and it is this:   Believe None of what you hear,…and 1/2 of what you see.  There is deception out there and we should be more aware. 

So here come Jimmy into the pits, all these other lazy crew chief’s say OK driver, pit next lap, they see what Jimmy’s crew does and follow.  They see a pit crew member take 2 turns out right side, but actually they took zero turns out of right side.  Maybe the pit crew member didn’t even realize he did nothing.  You would have to be real careful with that information.

There are several teams that have done that in the past and some doing it today.  Ones that have followed Johnson/Knaus moves just recently have pulled out of pits, there car so squirly they hit the wall – Montoya – gotcha!

Dariun, Tony, no more short cuts, you guys need to put in the time, study.  We have all gotten so busy trying to stay out of the economic black hole, aka surfing the economic wave.  We have taken shortcuts.

Folks, there is nothing like results when you put in the time, when you do the work.  We are all individuals.  What works for him or her don’t or won’t work for us.  The Bible says, don’t be deceived by any man.  Lets sharpen up you crew chiefs and drivers, cause Danica Patrick will be back soon, and if you are hanging out near the back she will take you out, because her spotter forgets to tell her to break.
